APlaya del Carmen is a very nice little town in the south-east of Mexico, at the border of the Caribbean Sea. Once a fishermen's village, it has grown to be nowadays, one of the country's favorite holiday destinations.
AThe nearest airport is Cancun International Airport. There is also an international airport in Cozumel (one hour away by boat from Playa del Carmen) or Chetumal (4 hours drive).
Playa also has an airdrome with a landing runway for small aircrafts and helicopters.
AMexico's Entry Requirements: All travelers to Mexico must have a valid passport. When flying into Mexico, a Tourist Card (FMT) is also required. To obtain a Tourist Card, you will need proof of citizenship in the form of a passport. The necessary forms will be provided by the airline or at the border (if entering by car).
AThe Carmen Hotel is located right on the beach, and only one block away from 5th Avenue lined with shops, restaurants and bars. We are one hour away from Cancun and near the Mayan ruins at Tulum, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and Uxmal. Playa del Carmen and Cozumel offer some the best scuba diving and snorkeling in Mexico with cenotes and a colorful reef.
ADefinitely beach and swimwear. The weather in Playa del Carmen is warm the whole year through. You might need a sweater at night during the winter. Pack some sport shoes if you plan on exploring the ruins and eco-parks.
